Greetings, KCI!
As we prepare to enter our annual time of corporate fasting and consecration beginning Sunday, October 18th, at sunset, please review the following fasting guidelines.
Fasting Hours
Each disciple may select one of the following 12-hour fasting periods:
-
5:00 AM – 5:00 PM
-
6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
-
7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
During your selected fasting period, only liquids are permitted. Once your designated fasting period has concluded, you may resume eating in accordance with the leading and instruction of Holy Spirit.
We encourage each disciple to remain prayerful and sensitive to Holy Spirit's guidance regarding their food choices, exercising both spiritual discipline and wisdom throughout this time of consecration.
Daily Communion
We will partake in Communion at the beginning of each fasting day as we consecrate ourselves and intentionally turn our hearts toward God.
Weekly Selah (Pause and Rest)
Each Friday at sunset, we will enter a Selah, a designated time of pause, reflection, and rest from our corporate fast. Where we will be able to eat without the restrictions of the fast. We will resume fasting each Saturday at sunset, continuing our time of consecration together.
Health and Medical Considerations
We recognize that some disciples may have medical conditions, take prescribed medications, or have specific dietary needs that require adjustments to their fasting practices. Please exercise wisdom and follow the guidance of your healthcare provider when determining how to participate safely.
Modifications to fasting hours, food intake, or liquid restrictions may be made according to individual medical needs. Please do not discontinue or alter prescribed medications for the purpose of fasting. Our desire is for every disciple to participate in this time of consecration in a manner that honors God while responsibly stewarding their health and well-being.
As we embark upon this sacred journey, let us remain intentional in prayer, attentive to the voice of Holy Spirit, and committed to seeking God's presence, direction, and will.
